First days at the Gallery

This gallery is web based following an Exhibition at Coventry Point, the idea occurred to continue showing art pieces. The First show was impromptu and arranged for students following a painting course devised by the artist Mark Stammers - the newseasonartclass @gmail.com.

Students had brief to develop Acrylic paintings on canvas, the theme of sharing something from their life experience or a concern for current events. to walk in the country find some sticks and build a shaped canvas and with these to create their own art piece. After following many water colour workshops and only two workshops with acrylics this was quite a change for students and led to some deeper discussion and finer art.

The Idea is to continue showing new contemporary work here every Friday, each artist will show two distinct phases in their art work, so the conversation and discussion will focus on how  their art pieces developed, along with photos of the works on the gallery walls.

Curator: Herminoe Yesoto
